The York-Adams League revealed its boys’ tennis singles and doubles brackets Wednesday morning, setting the stage for the first postseason tournaments of the 2024 spring high school season.

The Class 3A and Class 2A singles tournaments begin Thursday and crown champions Saturday morning, with the doubles tournaments to follow next Monday and Tuesday. Both singles brackets will feature 32 players, with 24 doubles tandems competing next week.

Dallastown junior Hayden Koons, who won the York-Adams 3A singles title and split the doubles crown in 2023, is the top seed in both events once again. He’s paired with teammate Jacob Horn in doubles after winning that tournament with Andrew Chronister last spring. Horn is also the No. 3 seed in the 3A singles bracket, behind Central York’s Kai MacLennan and ahead of Susquehannock’s Derek Baughman.

Bermudian Springs’ Parker Sanders is the No. 1 singles and doubles seed in Class 2A. The senior won doubles gold with Eli Snyder last spring — the first-ever county title for Bermudian’s boys — but is paired with Tyler Chenault this time (Snyder and Gabe Crews are seeded seventh). Sanders placed fourth in 2A singles in both 2022 and 2023. Littlestown’s Cyrus Marshall, last year’s third-place finisher, is seeded No. 3 between Delone Catholic’s Collin Kuhn and West York’s Ryan Steele.

The 3A tournament includes the league’s nine Division I teams, as well as Susquehannock (the D-II Warriors played seven D-I squads this spring) and York Country Day, a non-league member featuring athletes from YCD and York Tech. The 2A field includes athletes from seven Division II teams, plus one player from Eastern York.

Dallastown and Hanover wrapped up their respective division titles last week, and the Nighthawks completed a 12-0 regular season on Monday. Hanover will be the No. 1 seed in the District 3-2A team tournament, which begins May 1. Bermudian Springs entered Wednesday as the No. 4 seed in the eight-team field, while Central York held the No. 9 spot in 3A but had a chance to move up with No. 7 Lower Dauphin visiting No. 8 Cumberland Valley in the afternoon.

Thursday’s action will begin at 2 p.m., with Class 3A players at Red Lion and Class 2A at South Western, and feature the rounds of 32 and 16. Both tournaments will converge at South Western at 2 p.m. Friday for the quarterfinals and semifinals. The championship and third-place matches are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, also at South Western.

The doubles tournaments will stage their play-in matches, top 16 and quarterfinals starting at 1 p.m. Monday, with 3A action at Red Lion and 2A at South Western. The semifinals will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at South Western with championship and consolation bouts to follow.

All four brackets will qualify their top three finishers for the district singles and doubles tournaments next month at the Hershey Racquet Club. Fourth-place finishers would need an at-large selection to compete at districts.
