A new bridge on Lewisberry Road opened this week, according to PennDOT.

The state Department of Transportation said in a news release that the new bridge carrying Lewisberry Road over Little Conewago Creek at the border between Conewago and Manchester townships opened Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Until Tuesday, the road had been closed between East Canal Road and Crooked Wind Lane since December 2017, PennDOT said.

The portion of the road averages between 1,430 and 1,580 vehicles a day, according to the release.

Mechanicsburg-based Deblin Inc. worked on the $1.9 million design-build project for PennDOT, which included designing the new structure, removing and replacing the 79-year-old bridge, roadway approach work, new guiderail, signs and pavement markings, the release states.
