Judith Ann (Stabley) McCarney

Judith Ann (Stabley) McCarney, 79, of York, passed away, Monday, April 29, 2024, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gerald W. McCarney II who passed away, May 10, 2015.

Judy was born June 21, 1944, in York and was the daughter of the late Steward and Vera (Gemmill) Stabley.

She graduated in 1962 from William Penn High School in York. She was employed by White Rose Credit Union in York and previously was employed by McDonald Douglas Trucking Company and Bon Ton Department Stores. She was baptized and married at Grace Lutheran Church in York.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Rushell “Shelly” Werkley and her husband, Mark of York; two grandchildren, Benjamin, and Katherine; her sisters, Rebecca Stabley of York and Margaret Hess of Florida, and her brothers, Michael Stabley of York and Donald Stabley of Manchester.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Her visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Her burial will be in Quickel Church Cemetery in York. Officiating at her service will be Reverend Roy Stetler of Quickel Lutheran Church.
