Our beloved Sabrey "Bree" A. Zimmerman-Shellenberger passed suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Sabrey was born November 10, 1979, the daughter of Connie (Smith) and Gary Zimmerman of York, PA. She was a 1998 graduate of York Suburban High School where she became a State ranked tennis champion as well as band front where she participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. She achieved multiple commendations for her academic achievements throughout high school. After high school, she attended beauty school where she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. Her last place of employment was with Penn State Health, Hampton Medical Center, as an Administrative Associate. She also worked as a Unit Secretary at WellSpan York Hospital, as a Manager at the York Galleria Gap, and as a Patient Scheduler at UPMC.

Though she was a true city girl, as she'd admit to anyone who would ask, she chose to leave behind her city roots for a lifetime in the country with the love of her life. On October 13, 2023 she married Larry "Skip" Shellenberger, III, with an intimate autumn theme ceremony in their backyard.

Bree was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. She was extremely creative, including making stained glass designs, gorgeous crocheted afghans, beautiful interior designs in her home, as well as taking an interest in wire wrapping, gardening, and baking. She had a passion for reading and a love for discovering new knowledge to share, as she had a deep passion for learning. She loved all animals, including her parrot Skye, her French bulldog, Charlie and their goldendoodle, Bella, along with their horses. She loved the outdoors and going to greenhouses with her mother-in-law in the Spring for flowers to plant and nurture throughout the season. She was a wonderful daughter and mother.

She loved any place she went. She truly loved beach trips to Ocean City where she spent many summers with her family and their trip to the Wellsboro mountain area. She just enjoyed where she was and whoever she met. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was kind and compassionate and made an impact on many lives. She made it a point to be at all family gatherings and make everyone around her feel so at ease. She was so thrifty and knew the value of hard-earned money. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents and husband she is survived by the rest of her eternally grateful family ,her beautiful daughter, Elise and companion, Dom, her grandmother, Jean Smith, her aunts, Chris, Candy, Julie, Donna, and Kim, as well as her uncles, Stacy, Roy, Kelly, Paul, and Keith, her mother in law, Selena, father in law, Skip, step children , Wyatt, Charlotte and Grace, her "country family", Aunts, Angie and Patty, Uncle Herman, "cousins" Christa, Chris and her best little "cousin" Carletta, who adored her. She always said that her mom was her best friend, but her best friend Cathy, was always by her side. Also, all the lifelong friends, baseball mom's and families met at baseball games, friends at festivals, Whispering Pines employees; an endless list.

Memorial services may be held at a later date. Bree's wish to be cremated will be honored, and in lieu of flowers Bree would want you to take the time to spend with your loved ones and help anyone in need. Her heart, of this world, has stopped but her memory will live forever.

Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
